Poor Eric Sanderson, every few days he wakes up with no memory of who he is or where he's at. He remembers how to do things, but only the basics. The first Eric, kindly left letters for him and sends him parcels to help the Second Eric through the crisis and find out what happened to him. The Second Eric decides to start at the beginning and go through everything that the First Eric went through. In doing so he comes acrosseccentric people who are fighting the same problem he is, and together they hope to save the world from the Shark.
