Narrated by Lucy Dolan she tells you about an event that happened 13 years ago that has haunted her ever since. The story is also told by others over two generations who fill in Lucy's story for her. Eventually her story summons up a young man, and then the fireworks fly.
Meeka says:
Hmm, well it sounded so promising, but I didn't get any farther 15 pages into the story. Old rule, if it hasn't grabbed you by page 15, it's not worth reading any farther. And this was definitely a case in point.
Meeka's side note:
I had a visitor critic me on how I treated this novel, so I told her I would try again, as per another visitor, I should have given this book to at least 50 pages. Well, I did give this another crack, and only made it to page 21 before I chucked it.
