Arthur Golden

Memoirs of a Geisha
Adult Fiction

If you saw the movie, forget it. The movie missed out on the essence of this story and instead of plunging straight into, they skirted around what made this story so memorable and touching.
This tale is told to you by an old Geisha, she tells you about the death of her mother, her sale into slaveryto a mama-san, her separation and search for her sister, her downfall in the house. Her love for a man she met only once and her rise to fame as the most lovable of all geisha's. How she survived WW II and how in the end she was able to finally find love.

Meeka says:
Oh was this a novel. Truly touching and heart wrenching in places. I cringed, laughed, cried, and cheered as our heroine finds herself. This was a wonderful novel to read.
